Honestly, nft’s have so, so many amazing potential real world applications. Proof of ownership and transfer for real world assets; highly participatory direct democracy voting, customer engagement, verification of authenticity of unique items, storage and control of your own non-state documentation (international educational qualifications etc).
And thats just off the top of my head with no real technical knowledge.
Its such a shame the term nft is completely tarnished by garbage pop art and scams. I mean, collectibles ans digital art that a digitally validated are cool and all. But totally overdone.
I think legit stuff happening in the nft space is going to need to rebrand away from ’nft’ as a term.
