Ms Smith was ordered to attend a police station or face vandalism charges, with cops then delaying a final decision on the complaint following a public outcry. Fraser Hudghton, director of the Free Speech Union Scotland, said: “This whole situation is a toe-curling embarrassment for the Chief Constable and Police Scotland. The Chief can’t bat this one away. Susan deserves to know now what they plan to do.”
