In a video posted by Free Speech For People, Ty Cobb Says Congress Has a “Constitutional Obligation” to Act Against “This Lawless President”
WASHINGTON, DC (July 23, 2026) Former Trump White House Special Counsel Ty Cobb publicly called on Congress to begin impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump, declaring that the President “must be impeached, removed, and convicted” for what he described as multiple high crimes and warning that Congress has a constitutional duty to act.
In a new video released in support of Free Speech For People’s Impeach Trump Again campaign, Cobb reflected on his experience serving inside the Trump White House and argued that the constitutional remedy of impeachment exists precisely for moments like this.
“The framers of our Constitution put impeachment in the Constitution for exactly the critical moment that we face today in our history,” Cobb said. “They wanted Congress to protect us in the event that we ever had an evil president, a president who is lawless and believes that he is above the law and can do anything that he wants.”
