Pi Network’s (PI) debut hackathon has finally brought in the final results. Out of 215 submissions to create the next big thing on Pi Network’s mainnet, a South Korean developer has won the hearts of the commission.
Blind_Lounge, the decentralized application (dApp) that has been crowned the first place, has a couple of interesting features. Firstly, this application operates as a dating app that randomly puts Pioneers of the opposite sex in a private chat room.
75K Pi Coin Prize: Intuitive Dating App Snatches Gold Medal
This works drastically different from Tinder, the most-popular Web2 dating app. Entering the matching queue at the same time, members match with each other. True identities are only revealed via mutual choice, making this trust-based system stand out from the crowd.
While communicating with each other, the Pioneers can send requests to reveal more details about the other person’s identity. This Web3 gamified experience might just make dating apps fun again, mutually agreed by Bitcoin enthusiasts & Pi Coin’s community members on X.
The following feature that caught the Pioneers’ attention is the SNS lounge, an open chat online where all Pioneers can discuss every-day life, dating experiences, self-introductions & anything else that fits the terms & conditions of the service & is respectful to other chat dwellers.
To have a one-on-one convo with someone, the Web3 enthusiast can easily send a request by paying 1 Pi Coin (PI), but the recipient is also free to refuse the private chat request. If the talk is long-term, a special permanent chat badge will appear, informing the participants.
This is designed similarly to sticky thread features on Telegram or Messenger, but Blind_Lounge is way more intuitive.
Consumer Loyalty Rewards & Classic Games Coming Up
With this being rolled out next year, Pi Network’s (PI) utility-driven campaign is boosted by two other nominees. The second place, a loyalty-based program that gathers Pi Coins in your balance while buying at qualified merchants, snatched 45,000 Pi Coins (PI).
While recently striking a deal with CiDi games for a Web3 gaming experience on Pi Network’s mainnet, it’s no surprise that the bronze medal goes to Run For Pi, securing a 15,000 Pi prize.
This one takes inspiration from Pac-Man, an iconic running & coin-collecting game that originally debuted on the Sega Genesis console with immersive success. Run For Pi is bound to ride that nostalgic horse with a Play 2 Earn (P2E) feature, empowering Pi Network’s gamers to earn Pi Coins on the go.
