They’re confusing nodes with miners and validators. A miner or validator needs a node, but a node isn’t a miner or validator.
Besides, even if 10% of them are turned off, they will simply be turned on elsewhere afterwards. There is no problem, here. Just unnecessary drama.
It would be a problem only in case there is any single point of failure. There’s none, here.
